ROC Retin-Ox Illuminateur Intensive Anti-Wrinkle Ultra-Light Foundation

Woo, that's a mouthful. As part of my "shopping my stash" project, I thought it was time to start pulling some things out of my samples drawer. Do you want to see my samples drawer?

It doesn't really seem like all that much, but this pic is a few months old - there's about twice as much stuff in there now - it's getting hard to close. I love samples, but they're the kind of thing you tend to forget about. I figured it was time to try some new things, starting with the ROC Anti-Wrinkle Foundation.

I think this was sent to me by Beauty Heaven, and I have to wonder why they send out emails every few months asking people to update their details. I have always listed my skin type as "fair" for them, and this is the colour they sent me. It's called "Golden".

Erm, okay then. (Ignore the pen and eyebrow pencil scribbles.) And here it is blended.

Still way too dark, but then it doesn't really give much coverage either. In fact, it's more like a sheer tinted moisturiser than a foundation. You can see on my cheek it's made little difference, even given the terrible shade.

Not a lot of coverage going on, certainly not enough for my roughed-up red cheeks and ginormous pores. Needless to say, I won't be buying a full size of this foundation.

  2. Looks more like a tinted moisturiser for sure!
I recognise the Aromaleigh sachets! They are so good. You'll have to swatch them for us :)

  3. Looks like one to skip! Thanks for the review.

Those Aromaleigh sachets might be worth something now that they've closed down!

    Great sample drawer :)

  5. I haven't had any luck with Roc products, they've all been misses for me. This one looks like it's a miss too.

  6. GQ, The only other one I've ever tried is the Wrinkle Filler and I really liked that one. I have a few other samples of moisturisers and whatnot. Once my skin settles down I'm going to give them a go.

  7. Oh dear, not a great experience there! Oh well, at least it won't be cluttering up your drawer anymore!

  8. Never been a big fan of any of the ROC stuff - not for any specific reason other than they've all been a bit blah. To be fair I thought the colour was gonna look ridiculously orange on you but when its applied it looks pretty good; though definitely more of a tinted moisturiser than a foundation :)
