Now let me show you why.
In the first week of December I made a declaration that I was not going to buy any makeup, skincare or perfume products for 12 months except for items I legitimately needed (ie: if I ran out of toner or foundation), or items that were limited edition and I wouldn't be able to get them if I still wanted them in 12 months' time. So how's that been going?
This is everything I've bought since making that statement.
Okay, I know that looks really bad, but in my (weak) defence:
- 95% of it is cheap as chips US drugstore stuff
- 60% of it is stuff I bought with Christmas money from my mum, doesn't count
- you can see there is only one small perfume oil (a limited edition Valentine fragrance), and no skincare products at all
- I have no excuse for the nail polish; it was cheap and cute
- I have no excuse for the WnW palettes either
So yeah, not doing too fantastically with my goal of not buying, and also reducing my current stash.
Anyway, now I'm back on the wagon! My birthday is in May and my mum always gives me gift vouchers or money, so my goal now is to not buy ANYTHING until then, and then I can have a little spree if there's something I'm hankering for at the time.
We'll see how that goes...
Hhahaha nice haulin', I made a massive WnW shopping list last night :)
ReplyDeleteWell, some of the ones in that picture are what I'm sending so don't buy anything yet!
ReplyDeleteahahahhha xD
ReplyDeleteFINALLY someone I relate to !! ahahaha
You too, Dyna. I don't feel so alone now. ;-)
ReplyDeletei always vow not to buy things for the next x amount of time. i always break my own promise.
ReplyDeleteahahaha xD looking forward to the swatches and reviews xD :D
ReplyDeleteBa ha ha ha, nice haul! Well let's hope you can hold off on buying things till your birthday.
ReplyDeleteNice haul! No buys are always so difficult. I vowed March was a no buy and i bought 3 rouge coco shines!!
ReplyDeleteLmao! Nice haul anyway :P I just can't go on a no buy :(
ReplyDeleteHahahaha, that's so cute. And to think that you've been so good and it's still probably more makeup than a regular girl would buy in 6 months or more :-D
ReplyDeleteHehe, this is why all my makeup related resolutions have never gone well. I can always find an excuse to buy this or that. But in my case I know that the reason of failure is that I just really do not want to buy less :D
ReplyDeleteHope your next round will go well. Love your blog!
P.S. Browsing Nonpareil Boutique now :D
ReplyDeleteIf it makes you feel any better, I looked at that photo and was impressed that you have been so restrained. I find no buys so difficult, maybe you could try a low buy instead?
ReplyDeleteHahaha you're so funny!! :) Good luck with the 2nd round of no-buy ;) I'm currently on a no-buy as well, I've been trying to use up stuff since November or December :) x
ReplyDeleteLMAO! This cracked me up. I have a similar post to make at some point in the future. Restraining the beast has its consequences, because when it gets loose -- I totally understand.
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog thru Liz, how have I not found you earlier? I've been vicariously guilty about making purchases since following Liz, now you too. It's not stopping me of course..just adding guilt ;)
ReplyDeleteHello and welcome Liz and Tracy, lovely to see that I'm not the only one who falls off the wagon. :-)
ReplyDeleteI probably should admit that I had a mini splurge the other day with some of the proceeds from my blog sale...
No judging from me! I did just as crappy at my no buy. :D
