Mini Haul!

So you thought I'd be putting all the money from my recent blog sale on my credit card or in savings or something, right? Well, some I did. But I had to have a little spendy-spendy, which doesn't count towards my vow to not buy anything until May, because it's found money. Found money never counts.

From All Cosmetics Warehouse:
  • MAC Studio Finish ConcealerNW20
  • Maybelline Color Sensation Lipstick Luminous Lilac
  • Stila Eyeshadow Kitten
  • SMH Eyeshadow Cashmere
  • SMH Eyeshadow Sex Kitten
  • SMH Eyeshadow Warm & Fuzzy

I've never tried SMH eyeshadows before, and this seemed like a good excuse to dip a toe in.

From The Perfumed Court:
  • i Profumi di Firenze Magnolia Purpurea - 1.5ml spray
  • Lostmarc'h Lann-Ael 1.5ml spray
  • Lalique Amethyst 1.5ml spray
  • Hilde Soliani Vecchi Rossetti 1.5ml spray
  • Boucheron by Boucheron 1.5ml spray
  • Oriens by Van Cleef & Arpels 1.5ml vial (meant to get the spray - d'oh!)
  • Jovan Musk Oil Vintage - 1/2ml vial
  • Fendi Theorema - 5ml spray

Tag: My 11 Most Reached For Products

This was a tag I stole from Jade's video, but she tagged anyone who wanted to do it, so I'm doing it!

It wasn't too hard to pick 11 items, as I've been pretty much using the same stuff over and over lately. I have moved right away from my usual greens, purples and pinks and embraced neutral/nude eyeshadows. There are several reasons for this, including the fact that I'm getting on a bit and my eyelids are more hooded than they used to be (boo-urns), but mainly because it's still dark when I'm getting ready in the mornings and the lighting in my house is shite - everywhere. I just don't have the light I need to be able to apply coloured eyeshadows carefully enough. If I'm a bit half-arsed with neutrals (as I often am), it's not really noticeable.

Anyway, blah blah blah - on to my list. I haven't included any skincare or perfumes as I chop and change those a lot and don't have any real go to favourites at the moment.

Maybelline Expert Wear Quad in Velvet Crush

I think I paid about $3 for this in The Reject Shop about a year ago. I'm not generally a fan of Maybelline, but you don't usually see their stuff that cheap in Australia so I picked it up. I don't think I've ever used it before aside from a bit of swatching.

Maybelline Eyestudio Quad Green With Envy

This is the second of my "shopping my stash" reviews, as I discussed yesterday. I'm not sure how long I'll keep this up - I'm a Gemini; we don't have a lot of follow-through.

This is the Maybelline Eyestudio Quad in Green With Envy, and it looks like rubbish because it's one of the ones that broke in my recent drugstore.com purchase. Drugstore bashing-around aside, the packaging of this palette is awful. It's so cheap and flimsy. I have another one and the lid broke the first time I opened it. Craptacular.

Maybelline Color Sensational Creme Gloss

As you may be aware, I'm not a big fan of lip gloss, mostly because of my intense dislike of All Things Sticky. However, as glosses go, Maybelline Color Sensational Creme Gloss is quite nice. I was sent one to review for the Beauty Heaven trial team, in the colour Hooked on Pink. It actually looks more berry than pink, with fine gold shimmer through it.

Accidental purchase at Priceline.

I was in Priceline yesterday buying necessary sundries such as cotton pads, makeup wipes, and so on, and unfortunately I happened to walk past the display of the new Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick. I'm not generally a fan of Maybelline - it's just one of those "eh" brands that is super cheap in the US and way overpriced here in Australia. However, I've heard raves about these new lipsticks, so I had to see what the fuss was about. I swatched a few of the pinks and really liked all of them. The one I really wanted is Born With It, but they were out of stock, so I went with Pink Me Up.

It was a bit naughty of me - I'm not supposed to be buying anything unnecessary while I'm doing Project 10 Pan (of sorts), and I certainly don't need yet another pink lipstick. I have no excuse - I just wanted it. And it is lovely - beautiful texture, smells and tastes really nice, gorgeous colour. I'm very pleased with it, so that's some consolation.
