Perfumes tested this week.

Last week I was a bit flat, though not so flat as the week before, so I did try to catch up a bit on my testing (though I only have a handful of randoms because I was also testing the Halloween scents from The Morbid The Merrier). So many perfumes - I'm only up to G! I have also ordered some samples from Flourish after reading Stefanie's review of them a couple of weeks ago. That was a bit naughty of me, because I really, really do not need any more perfume oils at the moment, but since I've been on a super tight budget for what seems like EVER, I hardly ever buy anything fun these days, and breaking out for something small every now and then keeps me sane.

Anyway, on to this week's testees...

BPAL Follow Me Boy: This is a pretty blend of Southern florals - lotus, rose, honeysuckle, that sort of thing. Southern florals are among my favourite kinds of scents, which is why I wouldn't buy a full bottle of this. I already have about 20 others that are quite similar. It has really good staying power and quite a good throw, so if you're looking for something a bit seductive and very womanly, this would be a good one to try.

Scent By The Sea Frangipani: I had high hopes for this one, because I LOVE the scent of frangipani flowers. In the spring after it rains, their perfume just wafts through the air - it's divine. However, this doesn't smell like frangipani at all. It smells like tropical fruit. And we all know how I feel about fruit...

Poison Apple Potions Gilded: I love this, but I think it would be more suited to a soap or body lotion than a perfume oil. It's very much a foodie scent - like a sugary lemon cake - that reminds me quite a lot of the gorgeous Lemon Chiffon from the (apparently) defunct Garden Bath.

Glasgow: I expected not to like this much, as the notes listed are blackberries and heather. However, blackberries have always had a "perfume" smell to me rather than "fruity", and I don't really get any fruit at all out of this one. It just smells like a lovely, rose-based floral. And for once the rose is behaving itself on my skin. I wore this yesterday and was sniffing my wrist quite a lot throughout the day. It's not a monster throwing itself about the room, but it does have quite a lot of staying power. I really, really like this - it's going on the full bottle wishlist.
