Perfumes, because there is a very real danger that I may one day run out of fragrance.

Since I discovered the existence of The Perfumed Court I have hardly bought any full bottles of perfume. I'm a fickle one and I like to have a lot of different fragrances (you might have guessed that), so if I can get 8-12 good sized decants for the price of one bottle of perfume, which way do you think I'm going to go?

However, Chemist Warehouse had a big perfume sale this week, and I couldn't resist buying a bottle of Lolita Lempicka for $30. It's one of my favourite perfumes of all time, and I haven't had a bottle of it for a couple of years. It's a gorgeous, girly floral oriental with notes of violets, iris, vanilla and liquorice flower. The bottle is a bit spesh too, unlike my second impulse purchase...

I have fond memories of Jovan Musk from the 1980s - one of my aunts or older cousins had some and it seemed so exotic in a time when everyone was getting around in Yardley Lily of the Valley or  4711 - so when I saw it in the Chemist Warehouse catalogue for $15 I just had to have it. I didn't know if or when I would ever wear it, but I'd spend $15 on a magazine without blinking, so what the heck.

However, as is often the case with me, my memory has failed me. This is nothing like the deep, sexy musk I imagined that I remembered. It smells like The Body Shop White Musk, which is not a favourite scent of mine at all. Oh well, I guess it's fun to own for the nostalgia value. And I do love All Things Daggy.

  1. Perfume is my downfall. It's the one thing I can be talked into. I used to wear the men's version of Jovan cause it smelled stronger than the womens. I've got everything from Dior to JLO and back.
What do you get at Perfumed Court? It sounds very interesting.

  2. The Perfumed Court sells samples and decants of perfumes - a great way to test out stuff and also get small amounts of hard to find perfumes or ones that are not available here.

I've just done a post about them, I've been intending to do one for ages. :-)
