Swatches: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Tokyo and Stockholm

So... am I the only one who wonders what the difference is between bog-standard makeup and HD makeup? Do you think it's nothing? I think it's nothing.

Anyway, this is just a quick look at a couple of the new NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams that I picked up in the recent Cherry Culture 20% off sale. I couldn't find any swatches of these out there in the wide wide world of web and I just had to wing it, so if my little contribution here can help one person out there find that perfect lip colour that will make their life complete, then all this has been worth it. I'm such a trooper.

Don't even bother looking at the swatches on Cherry Culture or the NYX website. They're pants.

This is Stockholm - not really the same, but at least somewhere in the same colour family. Now check out Tokyo:

Erm...

I can't give a review of these yet, as I haven't tried them out properly, just messed about with them a bit. They are similar in texture to the Bourjois So Delicate Lip Creams, so if you've tried those, you'll have an idea of what to expect from these.

  1. Oooh I like the looks of those, you'll have to do a proper review of them later. I love super-creamy lip cream thing and those Nyx ones look like they're the type I'd like.

  2. Hi Lilit, I'll be sure to do a review when I've had a proper chance to try them out. :-)

  4. I want I want I want! Had my eyes on these for a while but I havent been able to bring myself to splash out cos I cant get NYX in the UK so I'm forced to pay over the odds and then have to add the cost of postage too :(

Tokyo looks beautiful - I'm kinda hoping your review is extremely negative; that way I wont have to buy it

  5. Heather, the swatches on the site and places like Cherry Culture and Nonpareil are so bad! That's pretty much the main reason I swatched all my NYX stuff. When I was buying it was really hard to find swatches of what I wanted, and consequently I took a chance on a fair bit and ended up with some really out there colours. I'm paying it forward, lol. ;-)

Joy, I'm waiting for Noodle Arms to get back from holiday next week before I review them, as she can do proper lip swatches for my. My lips are too thin for swatch purposes. So watch this space! Well, not literally *this* space, but you know...
